Indeed all praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, seek His aid and ask His forgiveness. We seek shelter in Allah from the evil of our own souls and the evil of our own actions. Whoever Allah has guided then no one can misguide him and whoever Allah has caused to be misguided then no one can guide him.
Dear friends,
When a person is faced with difficulties, he will start thinking about the good times he have had before, longing to be at ease and return to enjoying his life again.
But for the believers, we know that Allah has stated in the Quran
And seek help through patience and the prayer and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for alkhashi'iin. They are those who are certain that they are going to meet their Lord and that to Him they are going to return (al-Baqarah 2:45-46)
Patience does not mean weakness in the face. It does not mean sitting and waiting of events, for the unseen. It does not mean something negative at all. Patience is firm conviction and not being despair. It is about positively exerting efforts. Allah SWT always put patience with action in many places in the Quran such as
..and We certainly give those, who are patient, their reward according to the best of what they did ( an-nahlu 16: 96)
In addition, Allah SWT warned and guided us not to despair
...and despair not of Allah's mercy, surely none despairs of Allah's ercy except those who do not believe. ( Yusuf 12:87)
In another hadith, the Prophet SAW mentioned that patience is the greatest gift granted by Allah to His slave, much greater and valuable than anything you can find in this world. So we really need to use it accordingly. If we are patient enough to study and work five days a week, althought there is no guarantee that we are going to get the degree or the salary at the end of the day, then we need to be more patient to do actions in the course of Allah, and keep ourselves away from the sins, since it is guaranteed that we are going to die and meet Him.
Yes, be patience, my dear friends...Allah tests us not to punish us but to help us meet tomorrow...
(part 2 is about how prayer can help us in dealing with the difficulties)
